Woodley Gardens Waves 2025

“Where we grow Sportsmanship, Character, and Teamwork”

The Woodley Gardens Swim Team is a competitive summer swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to international competitor.

Younger swimmers who are not ready for lanes but can swim confidently are welcome. 

General season notes: If you swam for another MCSL team last year, please complete the MCSL Team Transfer Application Form

WGST 2025! This season's per-swimmer fee is $160, the same as last year. 

Practices: This season, practices will be held at the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center (mornings, 7:30 - 10 am [approx, also practice age groupings coming soon]) and at Fallsmead (afternoons 7:30 - 9 pm [approx, also practice age groupings coming soon])

  • 5/27—Practices start (afternoons)
  • 6/08— Time trials
  • 6/14—1st A meet
  • 6/18–1st morning practice
  • 6/18–1st B meet
  • 7/19—Team banquet
  • 7/19—Season ends
  • 7/26—All Star Relays
  • 7/27—Individual All Stars

Being a Buddy this year

Swimmers age 11 (or so) and up are Big Buddies to younger swimmers. This relationship helps engage younger and older swimmers both in the success of the Waves. It's a lot of fun for everyone! Learn more about the buddy program.

Regular swimmers who register by noon on June 8 (by the end of Time Trials) are eligible for buddies.

If you're not sure your family will be around very much this summer, let us know if you'd like to opt out.
